Standard-8

Implement, monitor, document, report back, repeat

How to implement this Standard

Key elements

  • Agree a formal monitoring process, including format, interval, responsibilities, reporting, distribution, and action plans to address gaps between what was agreed and what has transpired.
  • Regular review at agreed intervals throughout all stages of a project will ensure agreements remain a relevant and accurate reflection of the balance between cultural heritage protection, protection of Country, and economic and social benefits over the lifetime of the project.

  • The review process should rely on concrete targets, transparent reporting, and be formally documented and shared with all relevant stakeholders.
  • This process must be flexible to allow for continuous improvement to ensure the Proponent's and the Prescribed Body Corporate's (PBC's) participation remains agile throughout the lifecycle of what are often multi-generational projects, spanning many years.

Country is our mother, the provider and keeper of cultural belongings. Country and Culture go together. You can’t have one without the other.

Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners and custodians throughout Western Australia, and on whose Country we work. We acknowledge and respect their deep connection to their lands and waterways.

We honour and pay respect to Elders, and to their ancestors who survived and cared for Country.

Our offices are located on Whadjuk Country, Southern Yamatji Country, Kariyarra Country, and Yawuru Country. We recognise the continuing culture, traditions, stories and living cultures on these lands and commit to building a brighter future together.
