The Federal Court of Australia formally recognised the rights of the Yinggarda, Baiyungu and Thalanyji people as the native title holders over a combined determination area of 71,354 square kilometres, on 17 December 2019. It has taken two decades of perseverance and commitment by the Yinggarda, Baiyungu and Thalanyji people to reach today’s determination. The journey to this milestone began 22 years ago, when the first initial claim for people who form the Gnulli claim was lodged on 14 April, 1997.
