Louise Oakley is a Wajarri/Malgana woman currently residing in Carnarvon. She has a keen passion for fishing and enjoys socialising with family and friends.

Louise joined the Yamatji Regional Committee member at the 2024 Annual Regional Meeting. She hopes her appointment as a committee member will give her the opportunity to learn more about her culture.

Being the youngest person to be accepted as a regional committee member, Louise brings with her a new and fresh outlook and sees this opportunity as a challenging learning experience, that she is ready to take on.

Louise hopes to become more involved with her PBCs in the future as she aspires to be able to teach the younger ones about native title, and what it means for them and their community.

For Louise, Country means taking care of your land and caring for your Country.
