The Pilbara Development Commission is seeking nominations to fill one community position on the Pilbara Development Commission Board. This provides an excellent opportunity for a local community member to play a role in guiding the future direction of the Commission and representing the Pilbara community to ensure the is local input into the future development of the region.

The Commission is seeking nominations from highly motivated and enthusiastic people for the community position, who can demonstrate the following:

  • Should posses interest, experience and knowledge relevant to regional communities and must live in the Pilbara region
  • Paid or Voluntary involvement in economic or social development in the Pilbara region
  • Ability to work cooperatively to achieve agreed goals across a wide range of social and economic issues

Meet a Minister in Port Hedland

Do you have an important issue you would like to discuss with a Government Minister?

The State Government is holding a ‘Meet the Minister’ function in Port Hedland on Sunday 29th July 2012, giving locals the opportunity to ask Ministers questions on matters that concern them.

If you would like to attend, contact Trish Barron at the Pilbara Development Commission on (08) 9173 8400 or email pdc@pdc.wa.gov.au to find out which Ministers will be present and register your interest. Registrations close 4pm, Thursday 5th July 2012.

Please note that it will only be possible for seven to eight people to meet individually with each Minister, so please apply soon to ensure your place.

Apply Now For Pilbara Development Commission Grant

Does your community group have a project in mind that requires funding assistance? The final round of the Pilbara Development Commission’s Small Grants Scheme is now open for applications up to $10,000.

As part of Royalties For Regions, the scheme is designed to assist small community groups in the Pilbara with funding for projects up to $10,000.
