Middamia Native Title Consent Determination Video
The Federal Court of Australia has formally recognised the rights of the Middamia Traditional Owners as the native title holders over a combined determination area of 733 square kilometres.
The on-Country court hearing was an emotional celebration held on the Middalya Pastoral Station on 11 March, 2024. The Federal Court, representatives of the State and Federal governments, Pastoralists, other parties and importantly, the Traditional Owners came together to witness this historic occasion.
It has taken almost three decades of perseverance and commitment by the Middamia claimants to reach this determination.
