Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation (YMAC) is the Native Title Representative Body (NTRB), delivering native title and other services across the Pilbara, Mid West, Murchison and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia. YMAC is run by a First Nations board of directors, representing several native title groups, each of whom have their own language, culture, traditions and protocols.
YMAC services include native title claim and future act representation; heritage services; executive office, community, and economic development assistance; land administration, and natural resource management support.

YMAC is currently seeking a full time (75 hours per fortnight) Agreements Officer to join the team in our Perth office. The primary aim of this role is to process future act negotiations and conduct minor future act matters in collaboration with, and under instruction by, the lawyers in the legal team.
You will have the ability to work as part of a cohesive and integrated legal team and be committed to achieving real outcomes for First Nations people. You will have a keen interest in the law, and perhaps may be studying (or want to study) law. You could also be an experienced legal clerk or paralegal looking to transition to Native Title and gain some first-hand experience. You will also be able to communicate confidently and empathetically with all levels of staff and external agencies, verbally and in writing.
