YMAC’s Country and Culture Services (C&C) team provides Heritage, Social Surrounds and Land & Sea Management services to PBC’s in the management of their Country and Culture. This includes the establishment and management of Aboriginal Ranger programs and Indigenous Protected Areas, whole-of-Country planning and support to Land & Sea Management activities. YMAC’s C&C is a skilled and coordinated team of archaeologists, anthropologists, environmental scientists, land and sea management specialists, ranger coordinators, managers and administrators. We are intent of providing both high quality services and an enjoyable rewarding work environment and experiences in which to grow and consolidate expertise and contribute to the ongoing empowerment of our clients – Aboriginal communities and organisations throughout the Yamatji and Pilbara regions.
YMAC is currently seeking a full time (75 hours per fortnight) Archaeologist to join the team in our Perth office on a fixed term 12-month contract. Supporting the Heritage Manager and the Heritage team, your role is to plan and undertake heritage surveys to protect our Native Title clients’ heritage, and to liaise regularly with and seek instruction from Native Title groups on the conduct of such surveys.
This role is based in Perth, but will require travel to regional centres and remote communities

About You
You will be able to demonstrate at least three (3) years’ Heritage Survey experience, with a focus on Western Australia, and regular travel to remote areas is either something you have experience in or you have a willingness to do so.
